About
Keith Ray brings nearly two decades of experience to his role as a Forestry Technician and Wildlife Habitat Specialist in Middle Tennessee. A native of Cheatham County, Keith grew up immersed in the outdoors and developed a deep respect for the land at an early age. After earning his Forestry Technology degree from Walters State Community College, he joined the Tennessee Division of Forestry, where he now plays a vital role in managing public and private forestlands. Keith’s expertise spans prescribed burns, forest inventory and analysis, timber stand improvement, and wildfire prevention. He holds several certifications from the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) and is often deployed to manage controlled burns and lead suppression teams during fire season. Beyond the technical side of his work, Keith is also passionate about public education and conservation outreach. He regularly hosts workshops, mentors local youth, and collaborates with landowners to promote sustainable forest management. On his off days, Keith enjoys woodworking, kayaking, hiking, and spending time on his family’s wooded homestead with his wife and children.
